Blue Hole Jamaica

Blue Hole Mineral Spring is a tourist attraction near Negril, Jamaica.

Hi, Matt –

Not sure if this actually will reach you, but I wanted to at least try and introduce myself.

My wife Amy and I returned to Negril last week for the third time in less than four years and rousted up some genuine interest among our three good Jamaican friends Marsha, Clarence and Farmer Brown when we asked about the Blue Hole.

So, on Thursday, Dec. 20, the day before the world was supposed to end, the five of us piled into Farmer Brown's taxi and drove over to Brighton for a visit.

I must say, you have a wonderful, wonderful place there! And the hotel seems to be coming along very nicely, too. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Shot some nice video and still photos, two others of which I just got approved and posted on your official site. A third is attached to this email.

Our friend Clarence introduced us to Wabba, who is his second cousin (their maternal grandmothers were sisters). Clarence says he used to bathe in the blue hole as a kid, and came in with us to show how it's done! It was a fantastic experience for a couple of Colorado folks who really are into hanging out at natural mineral hot springs in our own state year-round (my wife also is a retired white-water rafting guide). Yes, I did jump (also forgot to reclaim my watch from the young man at the top of the ladder; Clarence or Farmer Brown hopefully will be back soon to try and find it, as we now are back home in the U.S.)

Like you (as I learned from your video), we absolutely love Jamaica and its people. We would absolutely be honored to do anything we could for them. So, as I near retirement age (I'll turn 62 in June), we are investigating options for a possible future somewhere on the west end of the island, even if it's just three or four months a year. There's a possibility that I could earn my master's in education by volunteering as an English/writing teacher at the new elementary school under construction in Little Bay, and since we also are very drawn to the fields of healing and general wellness, are very interested in meeting you in person to share some ideas, stories and experiences.

If that's a possibility, please let me know!

Warm wishes for a happy and prosperous new year.
